NUTRITION
The Nutrition and Food Safety Team provides educational programming and resources in the areas of food preparation, food preservation, food safety, and general nutrition.
Information is provided to assist Broome County residents choosing to develop a healthier lifestyle for themselves and their families. Our efforts reach all age groups in providing information for making healthy snacks, modifying favorite recipes to meet the requirements of special diets and eating healthy, and practicing proper food safety in preparing meals.
Our Information Center, open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., has over 250 facts sheets on nutrition, food safety, food preparation, and food preservation. Most fact sheets are free or available for a small fee.
